Both numbers circulate for this quarter and they are not the same measure: 54.2bn is capex including equipment finance leases, 53.1bn is the cash outflow. Trailing-twelve-month purchases of property and equipment net of proceeds and incentives reached 169.0bn against 102.9bn a year earlier, and free cash flow turned to an outflow of 7.6bn.
The year-ago comparative quoted alongside the Q2 2026 figure, kept as its own row so the year-on-year change is computed from a stored number rather than asserted.
