A count you can check.
Calendar days minus weekends minus full exchange closures equals trading days. The default includes both dates. Each regular session adds 6.5 hours; each early close adds 3.5. Extended-hours trading is excluded.
For November 23–29, 2026: seven calendar days, two weekend days and Thanksgiving leave four trading days and 23 session hours. Friday is a 1 pm close.

How many trading days are in 2026 and 2027?
NYSE and Nasdaq have 251 scheduled equity trading days in 2026 and 251 in 2027. Weekends and ten full-day market holidays are excluded in each year. Early-close dates still count as one session.
Do half days count as trading days?
Yes. An early close is one trading session, not half a trading day. A regular session lasts 6.5 hours, from 9:30 am to 4 pm ET. A 1 pm early close lasts 3.5 hours. This calculator shows both session counts and hours.
Are trading days the same as business days?
No. US equity exchanges close on Good Friday, and their calendar differs from federal banking holidays. Use the exchange calendar for trading-session counts. Settlement, bank transfers and bond markets can follow different calendars.
Does the calculator include today?
The default range starts on today’s Eastern Time date and includes both endpoints. Today counts if it is a scheduled trading day, even after the closing bell. Uncheck Include start date to exclude it. This is a date-based session count, not a countdown of remaining live trading hours.
How do I add 10 trading days to a date?
Choose Find a date, enter your starting date and enter 10. The starting date is day zero. The calculator advances through ten exchange sessions, skipping weekends and full closures. Enter a negative number to count backward.
Can I use this for options expiry or settlement?
Use it to count equity sessions in a research or holding window. It does not determine an options contract’s expiration, last trading day, settlement date or time decay. Those depend on the product and its rules.
